Scream star Neve Campbell was left screaming for real after a creepy apparition appeared in her old home in Los Angeles. 

She said: "Someone was murdered in my house six years ago before I bought it. I had friends round, I left them in the living room to go in the kitchen, and they both thought I had just walked back in again.

"But I hadn't, so what they saw was the murdered woman. The previous owner had an exorcist come in, but I don't think it worked."  

Neve Campbell has also seen the ghost of her dead grandmother.  Neve claims she has seen the spirit of her granny on several occasions and has always believed in the supernatural because of her Scottish roots.

She said: "I'm from Scottish descent so I believe in spirits and the supernatural."  "My dad sees ghosts all the time, but I've only ever seen my grandmother."  Neve has also offered a tip on how to ward off bad spirits - use candles.

The actress claims candlelight creates a protective shield that can stop evil ghosts from harming you.  She explained: "By lighting candles you can create a white light around you and this wards off evil."
