You got to hand it to the people at Fox for knowing how to grab an audience (and money).  Around 1995, Fox released a documentary video entitled "Alien Autopsy: Fact or Fiction." 

The documentary was built around a snippet of black-and-white film that allegedly showed doctors slicing up an alien body in Roswell, N.M., in 1947. 

There would be a lot of controversy concerning the grainy footage.  Skeptics questioned the way the "doctors" handled the autopsy because they seemed to be clueless to operating procedures. 

The video was finally revealed as a hoax a few years later when one of the actors who took part in the autopsy admitted it was fake.
