(Guide) UFO Basics

Phoenix LightsWhat is a UFO?
Unidentified flying object, or UFO is the term for any aerial object that is not identified immediately.  The first reports of UFOs can date back to ancient times, but the first official investigations started during the World War II period. UFOs were often called "foo fighters" by pilots during the war and were usually characterized as being "not from this planet".  The types and sizes of UFOs vary, and can be cigar shaped, saucer like, big, small, and usually display an array of very bright multi-colored lights.  Strange objects have been seen by humans for centuries, and many historical paintings, cave drawings, and ancient stories tell of silvery bright objects in the sky, mostly comparing them to things they were familiar with back then like a "silver shield."  The subject of UFOs didn't become well known until around the 1950s with the Roswell controversy and many other stories coming out of strange crafts soaring through the air.  Sure many objects in the sky can be explained, but the fact is some of them can't.  UFOs are just impossible to be of Earthly origin since they display characteristics that military aircraft can't replicate yet.  Some UFOs are even reported to be miles long and hover slowly without making any noise. Knowing that UFOs are real and some of them are in fact extraterrestrial craft is the first step in learning the truth.

Who sees UFOs?
People of all types have seen UFOs including well respected politicians, astronauts, pilots, high ranking military officials, and even U.S. presidents.  All these witnesses bring credibility to the table when we are talking about UFO phenomena, even some past skeptics have had their minds completely changed after seeing UFOs.  Having credible evidence and hard data is key in finding the truth about UFOs.

Who controls them?
Overwhelming evidence shows that UFOs are intelligently controlled.  We are not alone according to the large numbers of abduction and alien encounters in ancient times and now.  Sightings of small beings or other human like creatures have been famous in stories throughout history. Some ancient civilizations and even Native Americans trace their ancestry to the skies, and claim they were brought here by extraterrestrial beings with advanced technology and power.  The eyewitness accounts of actual alien beings are so similar that it is unlikely they just made the the stories up, and sometimes even physical evidence is left behind.

Why hasn't the subject of UFOs been as popular as it is now?
Popularity has nothing to do with not having any eyewitnesses in the past, its the fact there was no technology to study the UFO phenomena with, and for anything to be taken seriously, it must be studied with hard evidence.  Newspapers in the past could only have eyewitness accounts and drawings of these UFOs; but as humans advance their technology, we also advance our knowledge and understanding of UFOs.  In the 1950s to present time, we finally have the capabilities to photograph and even tape the UFO phenomena that in the past would have been impossible.  Think about it, UFOs have always been around in history of our planet, but witness accounts of UFOs weren't taken seriously because there was no way to prove they were truthful, all you had was eyewitness stories.  But today, we have the capability to capture this phenomena on a medium which will take us closer to revealing the truth about UFOs.  Sure there are many hoaxes and phony pictures out there, but some are real.  The only way to get good evidence is from credible reports and people.

Who sparked the popularity of "flying saucers"?
In 1947, Kenneth Arnold helped spark the subject of UFOs. He saw several odd shaped craft flying at incredible speeds, and reported the incident immediately after landing.  Arnold wasn't your average joe, he was a former pilot for the military, wealthy, and a well respected businessman. Arnold described the craft as looking like broken saucers with a cup inverted on top which moved like rocks skipping across the water. The media picked up the story and the name "flying saucer" was born.

Why isn't the Government taking UFOs seriously?
The fact is, the Government does take the subject of UFOs seriously, but brush it off to the public as nothing important and explainable.  To keep the public from knowing, they have several tactics of covering up the subject of UFOs. If UFOs were "explainable", then why would the government try so hard to cover up the truth and try to stop witnesses and the media from releasing any information.

Washington D.C. UFOsDo you have any proof the Government is covering up the truth?
To understand the subject of UFOs and the government cover up, you have to go where the first major cover up began.  In 1947, William "Mac" Brazel, a ranch foreman, found wreckage from a UFO spread out for miles on the land.  Along with strange metallic wreckage which was impossible to damage, he also found a metal bar which had odd writings on it.  Brazel called the sheriff who checked the wreckage out who then called the Roswell base, and army personnel were sent to confirm.  After the military gathered up all the wreckage they could find, the Roswell Army Airfield contacted the media and told them the U.S. Military had found wreckage of a flying saucer, but after the Commanding General found out, he told him to cover it up and say it was just a "weather balloon."  It was too late though, and news had already spread of the crash to half the country already.  The military has the intelligence to tell the difference between the wreckage of a spacecraft and a weather balloon, and to go back and change their words made many people doubtful they were telling the truth.  The Roswell crash was the first government cover up on the subject of UFOs.  The evidence supporting the fact that Roswell, New Mexico had UFOs crash there is overwhelming to say the least.  Check out the Roswell article to learn more.  The evidence supporting the crash is overwhelming

What happened later?
Well, by the 1950s, the U.S. Military was faced with thousands of reports of UFOs in the sky and the story of crashed discs has already caught the public's eye.  Many credible witnesses have decided to come forward with their story of UFOs knowing they were not alone in their beliefs anymore.  In 1949, Project Blue Book was formed by the government to investigate UFO sightings and fit all of them under categories of explainable phenomena.  In 1969, a public version of Bluebook was released to the satisfy the public, but the data was changed and whistleblowers quickly discredited much of the information.  In Bluebook, the military only released the reports that could be explainable and ignored the best evidence of UFOs out.  Nasa astronauts during this time visiting space and the moon have also seen UFOs and many have already come forward with their experiences like Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11 Astronaut), Edgar Mitchell (Apollo 14), Gordon Cooper (Mercury), and many more including people who have worked for Nasa.  As years pass, more and more people today are coming forward with information, and in my opinion, it won't be long until smoking gun proof of UFOs is released and the government admits they have been lying all these years.
